Stickit Lore
Discovered about 30 years ago by an SPA Research and Exploration agent Rugen Tribus while he was charting a previously unexplored portion of space. This region would later become part of the Cheshire System and it was found that these creatures would seems to seek out sentient life forms. Rugen noted that hey quickly bonded with beings of higher intelligence and would seamlessly integrate themselves into the lives of those they bonded with. Stickits seek out regular affection, food, and seem to enjoy traveling with their care takers.
While being very easy to care for they do require protection as their generally small size let to larger creatures often trying to use them as a meal. Rugen gathered up several different types of stickit and gave one to each of his research team to keep track of and bond with. The logs that were turned a few months after this experiment started went into great detail about how the stickits seemed to repay their companions for the protection they provided by performing amazing tasks for them. It was noted that the 'type' of Stickit would often dictate what task they seemed capable of.
Stickits are a very diverse group of creatures that have a presence all over the Cheshire System. Their true origin is unknown at this time but they are heavily studied by the SPA's research division. It has been noted that stickits have conventionally 'cute' faces to help these life forms bond with them.
Stickits earned their name by by forming symbiotic relationships with other life forms. When these life forms put a stickit around certain object they will do something with them. Over time the phrase 'stick it over there' was used so much when directing others on how to best use these creatures that they were eventually named 'Stickits'.
Because they are so useful stickits are highly sought after by adventurers and homesteaders alike. New stickits are discovered often as when they are babies they will take a liking to something in their environment and form themselves after it. Because baby stickits start out fully white and with no true features they are called 'Blankits'. After they start to model themselves after something around them their markings and traits will form at which point they can be properly categorized and studied.

-'Material' Type stickits can often create a material from their own body and give it to their Shirefolk companions to aid them. Some examples of this are stickits creating silk, yarn, rope, wire, ect.
—-
-'Object' Type stickits can change the make up of their body to directly copy the object their markings and shapes mimic. This allows the shirefolk to use the stickit as that object with out causing harm to the stickit. They can also preserve the quality of objects similar to themselves.
-'Plasma' Type stickits can float, pass through solid objects, and can lift heavy things despite their appearance. These stickits are great for getting objects that are just out of reach. Depending on the plasma stickits theme, they can also charge batteries, make fires burn longer/stronger, or cause space craft to use less energy during travel.

-'Flora' Type stickits are able to tend to plants on their own and keep them growing strong and healthy regardless of temperature or conditions. It has also been noted that plants cared for by this stickit grow bigger and faster than those tended to normally.
