When the stars were not yet filled with SPA fighter crafts the Milky Way was a very different place. No rules or laws had been put into place and the strong rose to power while stepping on the weak to get there. Amongst the many groups that came to be known as 'raiders' or 'pirates' there was one that stood above the rest. The Crimson Wings were a group of mercenary pirates that were well organized and heavily armed. They were able to claim planets with ease and would charge fees for 'protection' from other pirates, demand the best goods, trade deals, and cuts of the planet's profits.

This left these planets struggling and often lacking resources for its people. The Crimson Wings came to be the leading power amongst the pirates thanks to their skills, organization, and strong dedication to hierarchy without betraying other Crimson Wings. Their controlled chaos of the systems led to disarray and eventually a rebellion began against them with several systems gathering a hidden force and striking back when the Talasii guild came to collect their tribute.

After successfully being repelled by the rebellion the Talasii launched a counter attack on these systems to try make them subservient once more. What they did not expect was that word has spread to even more systems that the rebellion has been a success and even more systems had sent aid to fight the Talasii. When the pirates guild engaged in combat again they were vastly out numbered and their numbers were cut down before they were forced to turn tail and run. Only a few of the Crimson Wings survived and still hold a tight grip on the pirates guild while they hide in uncharted space.

The rebellious system that pushed the Talasii back officially formed the SPA soon after and has been pushing pirate territories back ever since.

The Talassi has several main groups within it along with several smaller factions and sub-factions. They seem to all generally fallow the pirates code set by the Red Wings and will ally with both major and minor powers if they stand to benefit from it or if there is an enemy in common.

Always be wary when trusting a pirate, their only loyalty is to themselves, the guild, and The Crimson Wings.
