Solaris

Solaris is known as the being that brought magic, life, and the environment to Redoa. Following a battle to protect Redoa, Solaris was mortally wounded and split themselves into three different beings.

These beings would be known as Solia, Astren, and Lunock. Each being was deeply wounded and began to limp away to a place they found comfort in when they had once been whole.

Solia traveled to the mountains. Their soft mane was losing fur as it traveled and as each piece fell to the earth below the magic began to form the first Degils: small deer like creatures with the back feet of eagles and manes to keep them warm just like Solaris had when they were whole. As Solia reached the mountains and the rocks scraped against their tired and wounded body some of their scales fell from them. As these scales fused with the rock around them the first Dragon Degils were formed. Degils with scales, bat wings, and an affinity for heat and fire began to roam the mountains that they called home.

Solia decided to take a rest at the mouth of one of the volcanoes in the mountain range. It is said that the indention in the mountain where Solia took their rest can still be seen. This is considered a sacred place to Dragon Degils. Solia came to become depicted as the Sun in Degil culture and is said to be the giver of warmth, strength, and memory.

Astren traveled across the jungles towards the oceans. As they traveled, their delicate gossamer wings that had taken much damage during their battle began to break and fall apart. The pieces of their fair wings that fell to the jungle formed the first Fairy Degils. It is said that the footsteps that Astren took through the jungle are where the greatest of the ancient trees have grown and they are protected at all cost by the friendly and brave Fairies. Astren was able to make it to the ocean and as they touched the water the magic it held granted Astren new wings in the form of graceful Manta ray wings. These wings acted like a window to the stars above. It is said that as they swam into the depths that stars would fall from their wings and formed the first Ocean Degils. Some parts of the deep ocean have sands that sparkle like the stars in its depths. This place is sacred to the Ocean Degils and is thought to be where Astren rests deep beneath the sands. Astren came to be depicted as the Stars in the night sky in Degil culture and is said to be the giver of crops/good harvests, compassion, and revitalization.

Lunock traveled across the land to the deep and thick forests to find a hollow they once took comfort in. Lunock had had their horn broken during the battle and when the final blow was struck and they were split from their other parts they took the most damage. Lunock’s blood trailed behind them as they traveled and tainted some of the forest's plants. Regular Degils accidentally consumed these plants and once they had tasted the blood of the gods their magic became forever changed and they began to desire the magic held in blood. Thus the first Vampire Degils came to be.

Lunock traveled well into the night and as the moon shined down upon them they tried to draw strength from it. They were successful in this but, due to their broken horn, they were not able to fully regulate what happened to the magic that entered their body. As a result other Degils were also given the moon's strength. These Degils did not have the ability to handle magic like Lunock and the power made them unstable, giving them a beastly form brought on by the moon and able to be passed at rare times with a venomous bite to other Degils. With them the first of the Were-Degils were formed.

Finally as Lunock made it to the hollow they sought refuge in they went to lay their head down and pieces of their shattered horn fell to the ground and from this formed great magical seeds. These seeds were collected and carried around for many years. It came to be that they would go missing and the shard in the center of the seed would form a great Degil with strong magic in them and a grand form that channeled their power. Thus the first Demi-God Degils came to be.

Lunock came to be depicted as the Moon in Degil culture and is said to be the giver of hope, endurance, and power.
