General Summery:
With a name that roughly translates to 'hot trees' this farm town was named by native Hawaiians due to the trees that grow there giving off enough heat to be almost hot to the touch. Located on a Hawaiian island that is near a volcano breaching out of the ocean, the locals believe that the trees and plants here absorb the energy from the volcano and radiate it back out. The volcano is slightly active but is not a threat currently.
The farmers mix the ash from the volcano into their soil to help increase the growth and production of their crops. The mixture of the hot climate, strange flora, and expansive lava tube caves have brought many dragon degils to this island. At first the locals were not please with others moving into ancestral lands, but when the degils were able to further increase plant growth and showed that they were resistant to the fumes and heat that filled the tunnels the locals realized that the degils would bring more prosperity to them. The degils work hard to study the volcano, gather ash, and explore the lava tubes for treasures and rare rock formations that can be sold.
Many botanists are itching to get more research done on the 'hot trees' that grow on this island and will pay high prices for samples. This is something the locals have wanted to avoid and instead whish to protect and preserve these trees as part of their island and culture. The degils there have also become rather protective of these trees and work hard with the locals to keep tourists a safe distance from the trees while still letting them enjoy the island and bring in revenue.
The locals and degils have disclosed that there is some sort of connection between the trees and the cave systems but are not entirely sure what it is yet.
