 It is said that Jalis still guards this world jealously while her broken wings try to heal keeping the world devouring dragon at bay. On dark moonless nights it was believed the Great Mother is hiding the world under her wings and keeping them safe from those that wish them harm. On rare occasion bright meteor's can be seen in the night sky over the Alfien's home world as well as in the sky of worlds where lots of Alfiens have gathered. The tails of these shooting stars come in just about every color as they shoot through the sky and it is said they are the tears of joy cried by Jalis when she looks down and sees her people prosper. To Alfien's these shooting stars are sacred and when they show up they are celebrated like a holiday called the [[Festival of Stars]].

 Though all types of Alfien share similar features, there are a few different variants of Alfien. This includes Nimbus, Aquis, and [Data Missing]. Alfiens have large powerful front arms and thinner back legs. Their heads are very rectangular and often have small ears. They have many sharp teeth that are great for a carnivorous diet.

These wings can be 'absorbed' back into the arms to the Alfien can get around easier if needed. Their tails are very flexible and often end in a spade. Large slightly curved horns sit atop their heads and are very hard to break. A large crest of feathers runs from the top of the head down the back of the neck. This crest can be raised up or lowered flat to the skin to better communicate how the Alfien is feeling at the time. These crest feathers are considered very important to them and should they fall out the Alfien will often incorporate it somewhere in their favorite outfit or home decorations. On rare occasions they will gift these feathers to someone very close to them instead.

 Nimbus Alfiens are known for their neat and orderly appearance and fine attention to detail. They also seem to be able to adept well in constantly changing situations. It is rare that someone can provoke them to anger, but when it happens watch out! A signature move for them is to grab an enemy, fly them high into the air, and drop them to their doom from great heights.

 A less common type of Alfien is the Aquis subtype. These Alfiens are natural water dwellers and are covered in a mix of scales and hydrophobic fur. They can live in any body of water be it oceans, rivers, lakes ect. The gills on their sides are able to filter oxygen from both salt and fresh water. They are known to build complex underwater settlements. These settlements can allow air breathing visitors to come and exist along side them. Their tails are long and thick like that of an alligator. The scales on the back of their neck are very strong and usually lay flat when they are swimming. When trying to be intimidating they can shake the neck and rattle the large scales on top of one another which makes a very loud rattling noise. When these scales shed they are incorporated into weapons and armor. It is a custom to for families to create armor that has scales from their ancestors and pass it on, with each generation adding a scale to it. Along their neck is a long patch of skin that glows when they use magic or shift between forms. Sometimes this patch is the same color as their inners but it can have markings and any colors on it. Some patches are very noticeable while others can't be seen at all unless glowing.
