They can live in any body of water be it oceans, rivers, lakes ect. The gills on their sides are able to filter oxygen from both salt and fresh water. They are known to build complex underwater settlements. These settlements can allow air breathing visitors to come and exist along side them. Their tails are long and thick like that of an alligator. The scales on the back of their neck are very strong and usually lay flat when they are swimming. When trying to be intimidating they can shake the neck and rattle the large scales on top of one another which makes a very loud rattling noise.
